3 Tips for Making Sure That Your Summer Wedding Is Comfortable for Everyone

Posted on

Having a wedding in the summer is a popular choice because the weather is nice, and you can get married outside. However, all that heat can be an issue if you don't plan correctly for your wedding. Here are four tips to make sure your outside summer wedding is comfortable for everyone.

1. Have Water Available at All Times

First, make sure that your guests can access water at all times, including prior to the start of the wedding and during the wedding itself. There are various ways you can achieve this. For example, if you are having an outdoor barn or farm-style wedding, you can put metal bins full of ice and water at the end of each aisle, so people can easily grab a cold water bottle.

Or, you can set up a tent with water in dispensers and provide disposable cups so people can easily grab some water. If you want to be a little fancier, add some fruit to the water for a little flavoring.

Just make sure that there is easy access to water at all times during your wedding. Access to water should not be restricted to mealtime.

2. Have a Cooler Area Available

Second, try to provide some relief from the heat. Heat can get to anyone, although the young and elderly are particularly vulnerable to heatstroke. It is a good idea to make sure that you have some shaded and cool areas for your guests.

You can put up a tent to provide some relief from the heat, or you can rent some tables with umbrellas. You can rent a tent that includes a portable air conditioning system if it gets particularly hot in your area. Or you can set up misters to cool people off.

3. Think About Timing

Think about the time of day that you hold your wedding. Try to avoid holding your wedding during the peak heat of the day. Go for an earlier brunch-style wedding, so your wedding is ending around the hottest time of the day. Or go for a wedding later in the afternoon, with dinner served around sunset, and dancing saved for when the sun goes down. Work around the hottest time of the day.

If you are planning a summer wedding, make sure that you provide access to water at all times. Make sure to have a few cool places for your guests to cool off. Think about the timing of your wedding and try to avoid the heat of the day. Call a wedding planning service for more tips for planning a summer wedding.
